Earn some money, build your resume, and put your skills to practice through the work study program
We want to hire you. Our student workers play an important role in our college’s daily functions and campus events.
Through a combination of federal and institutional dollars, we make it possible for all of our full-time, degree-seeking students to qualify to work on campus.
Students can choose to apply their earnings to their bill to help reduce the direct cost or receive the earnings through a paycheck to help with indirect costs.
Prior to beginning work, students must complete employment paperwork with Human Resources/Payroll.

This is a very common question! Having work study included in your financial aid package means you are authorized to work on campus but it is up to you to find a job that works with your schedule. Students must go through a process of applying, interviewing, and getting hired-then to get paid-you also have to work. The award of work study is only earned through hourly wages earned by working. Check out the job opportunities at our student employment website!
The difference between the two programs is just the source of the funding. Federal work study is funded through the federal government and institutional work study is funded through Beloit College.
When you complete your employment paperwork with Human Resources/Payroll, you can sign up for direct deposit or you can choose to receive a paper check sent to your campus mailbox. Students receive a bi-weekly paycheck once they begin working.
